Before I moved to Boston, I had never seen snow in personI and had all sorts of romantic notions about snow. Snow falling down just makes time slow down. Everything seems to be going in slow motion, and it’s just so pretty. But after moving to Boston and have been living here for almost four years, all my romantic thoughts about snow got blown away in wind and snow storm. When snow melts, it is extremely cold. Plus, snow shoveling isn’t fun at all and it’s always not unavoidable.
WHAT I WORE / ASOS COAT / ASOS SHIRT / CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL / ZARA JEANS (SOLD OUT, SIMILAR ASOS STYLE) / DR. MARTENS SHOES
People always ask me if I get used to the freezing winter here. The truth is, you never get used to the cold weather here in Boston. You learn how to deal with it with waterproof shoes and multiple layers. With the right items, it’s not hard to stay warm and stylish in extreme weather. Plus, it can be fun starting with a pair of good shoes!
My Doc Martens Style
When it comes to what to wear to the snow, I always choose my Doc Martens and they are my most worn pieces in winter. I own two pairs of Dr. Martens 1461 3-eye shoes. One is black and the other pair is white. When I bought them two years ago, I didn’t think they’d become such a staple like they have. They were amazing in the light snow. They are waterproof, and look good with almost everything like I wore them several times here. For my Doc Martens style, I like to pair them with preppy looks, because I love how Docs make preppy outfits edgy effortlessly. I think 3-eye style is more flattering than 5-eye and even 8-eye on my petite frame. Because with ties around the ankle like Docs 5-eye and 8-eye styles make legs shorter and thicker. Paired with multiple layers of clothes, it’s nice going out on a chilly January afternoon.
